Behavioral Consult
Behavioral consultations take a holistic, solution-focused approach by looking at the whole picture rather than just the presenting problem. Areas of assessment include known veterinary history, barn environment, feed and nutrition, tack fit, hoof care, horse history, and the horse's daily life and working schedule.
This is an opportunity for horse owners to get an outside perspective on what could be going on with their horse. My natural aptitude for pattern recognition and out-of-the-box thinking allows me to see things that can be difficult to spot from the inside. At times the stories a horse carries with them can overtake our ability to identify the right problem; making it hard to see what needs to shift. My aim is to offer a fresh lens and practical suggestions to implement.
Areas of exploration can include and are not limited to challenges with fear and anxiety, ridden challenges, handling and husbandry, repetitive behaviors, aggression, and management or environment.
The process begins with a brief intake questionnaire to give me a baseline understanding of your horse before we meet.

Pre-Purchase Consult
Buying a horse is one of the most significant decisions a horse person makes. A pre-purchase consultation gives you an informed, experienced second set of eyes before you commit.
Send me video footage of the horse you're considering and we'll get on a Zoom call to talk through what I'm seeing with movement, behavior, temperament, any red flags or things worth investigating further. Part of that conversation will include what you’re hoping this horse will do for you and whether I think they’re the right fit for the job. I'm also happy to connect directly with the seller if that would be helpful.
This is not a veterinary pre-purchase exam. I always recommend getting one of those separately. What I offer is a horsemanship and behavioral assessment to help you make a confident, informed decision.
