Lessons

I have felt honored to call myself a student of the horse my entire life, and one of my greatest joys is passing on what I've learned along the way — watching horse and rider teams succeed and quieting the noise that happens in our heads as riders. The more capable and confident we feel with our horses, the more fun we have. The more capable and confident our horses feel, the more fun they have.

I come from a lineage of study under excellent horsemen and horsewomen from a range of backgrounds, hence my eclectic set of skills. My approach is rooted in horsemanship and incorporates feel, timing, and science — with a working knowledge of biomechanics and equine brain function. I believe that working with horses is making art, not machines. Although I take a horse-first approach, you are just as important in the mix. My goal is never perfection. It's harmony.
