What I’ve learned from round pens, open fields, and years of quiet observation is that good horsemanship is really about simplicity.
The horse world has more information in it than ever before, and it’s spreading faster than we can absorb - more methods, more frameworks, more borrowed language from psychology and neuroscience and human wellness. Some of it is genuinely useful. Some of it has carried us too far from the horse. The industry is asking us to hold a lot, and the horse is just standing there, waiting for something clear.
What I keep coming back to is a simple question: where do we begin and end with the horse? What can we let go of, and what do we need to stay with?
